Muckleshoot is the Lushootseed Native American tribe, Coast Salish peoples part of and Pacific Northwest whose reservations and traditional territory are located at area of Auburn, in Washington, amid Tacoma and Seattle. They’re descendants of a variety of tribal groups that included Duwamish, Smulkamish, Skopamish, Tkwakwamish, Stkamish, Snoqualmie and Yilalkoamish tribes. Traditionally, Muckleshoots lived along eastern shores of Puget Sound region in Washington State and adjacent rivers of Cascade Range. Usually, Whulshootseed that is a local variety of Lushootseed, today the most Muckleshoots doesn’t speak the ancestral language; however, some do and tribe has the active program for it the resuscitation and preservation.
