Billion dollar casino executive Sheldon Adelson is seeking out the lucrative New Jersey area for a new Casino. New Jersey, which borders big city New York, is likely to pull many high-flyers as New York City boasts exceptionally high living standards as a metropolitan hub.
York vs. Jersey
But not all at the same time. Adelson has stated that there are a few factors that have to be equated before making the decision to go ahead. For instance, the mighty New York could pull strings on the project if New Jersey happened to become too popular in comparison to New York State as a gaming centre.
Recently there has been a huge focus on the Asian-style gambling with games like Baccarat. The Sands Bethlehem has met this demand by enticement ethnic Asian players from New York to their casino. This is an area that Adelson could potentially move into by offering such gaming styles in his New Jersey casino.
Moratorium on Jersey
The state-wide ban in Jersey has recently seen a lot of pressure for removal, so it’s looking like high time that things may actually change soon. This is further supplemented by the fact that the legal moratorium on the state, which prevents casinos opening up, will lift in February 2022, giving the thumbs up for Adelson.
The Go Ahead
The $38 billion dollar business guru has stated that this venture will not be an easy one because of the factors such as competition and state gaming laws, but it is still a very promising one. As Adelson, who has his business roots in Las Vegas Sands Corp has much experience in the gaming industry, we are confident that a change may be in store for New Jersey very soon. So it’s looking like bright lights are indeed in sight for the Meadowlands.
